API pricing
Check SAPS firearm licence, renewal and competency references by machine instead of by hand. Checking a status, your account, saved applications, alerts and the firearm register stay free and are not metered: this page is only about the API. The motivation letter and the renewal motivation are sold separately.
How it works. You buy a plan for a fixed term, paid in advance. Each month of that term carries an allowance of calls. Unused calls do not carry over: they end with the cycle they belonged to. All payments are final; see our terms, section 9.

The largest plan is 20,000 calls a month. We do not sell an unmetered tier, because our own courtesy limit against the SAPS enquiry service is a fixed rate we will not exceed. If you need more than the Professional plan, talk to us and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve it.
Top-up packs
Top-ups can only be bought once you have an active subscription. A pack adds calls to your current cycle, so there has to be a cycle to add them to. Every pack also costs more per call than every plan, so moving up a plan is better value; these are for the month you did not see coming.
Extra calls for a single billing cycle, if you run short before it turns over. They are added to one cycle, they expire with it, and they never extend your term.

What is not included
- No uptime promise, no response-time guarantee and no credit for downtime. The API is provided as is, like the rest of the service. We refuse work we cannot do rather than accepting it and being late.
- No refunds. Not on a subscription, a top-up, an unused allowance, or any remaining part of a paid term.
- Prices may change. A change never affects a term you have already paid for.
